Due to an unexpected free weekend (thank you Ash Cloud of Doom (TM)) I finally got the chance to move into the new house this weekend.
So far I have:
a) a mattress (stolen, well, given to me by, a friend’s neighbour)
b) two wooden chairs and a small table on the balcony
c) that’s it…
I’m going for the ultra-modern, uber-cool, minimalist look. Seriously. It’s not that I haven’t got my arse into gear and have no furniture. Noooo.
After the obligatory wrestle with the “you’ve paid a fortune for it, now you have to put it up” tables and chairs, my weekend was mostly spent doing this:

Good book choice i enjoyed that!
I’m not commenting on the rest of the scene for i will be too jealous
As I say later in the comments, I wasn’t overally thrilled by the book. I mean, it was ok, but didn’t keep me up all night.
Jealous of your balcony. JEALOUS
It’s so lovely. This was taken quite late at night – it’s at its best either mid afternoon or just as the mountains are turning pink.
I echo Helen’s comment above!
I hope that is a G&T.
Well, what else would it be. One of the first things I did on moving was go to the local wholesalers and pick up a shed load of wine and gin. I have my priorities.
I may not have a bed, but I have gin.
Here’s to a happy cowshed! x
And once I’m settled properly, I fully expect a visit!
That looks like a lovely way to spend a weekend.
One of the best. Looking forward to Sunday which, if its sunny, will be spent there once more.
Lovely and homely – and mountains! Hope you are feeling more settled. Will email v shortly!
And mountains! I still can’t get over them. Everytime I see them, I have to look just that couple of seconds longer.
You’re not complaining, right? Because that looks pretty sweet to me.
Oh no, I’m not complaining
Ha! I spent the weekend doing exactly that, reading exactly that book!
Hahaha! Did you enjoy it?
Okay all you clever clogs, tell those who have mislaid their binoculars what the book is!
The Magician’s Apprentice. It’s…. well…
Gin, fags, crisps, and a book.
You’re only a packet of pork scratchings away from a perfect evening
Sadly, no pork scratchings to be found in Switzerland. You can’t even get pork with a decent bit of fat for crackling…
I miss my balcony
p.s. I LOVE that book…how you finding it?
Meh.
The ending was annoying. It left so much unsaid which really pissed me off!
Have moved onto the last of the Stieg Lasson books now which, as I predicted, I am loving.
