Well that’s that, then

As I gingerly opened the back door, I worried about what I would find. I picked my way over the glass. Silence permeated through the flat.

An sharp intake of breath as I saw the extent of the damage. Mainly superficial. Mainly “things”. But memories, lying there, smashed on the floor.

I picked up my bag, quickly packed a couple of things and let myself out.

EDIT: To clear things up. Sadly, it wasn’t strangers who did this. It was N. It’s all over.

So sorry! How dreadful. I’ve had that happen to me as well and know how intrusive it can feel – how DARE they break into your home and mess with your stuff. Stuff that is valueless to them, but means everything to you.

    Hope you’re OK.

  11. I’m so, so very sorry to hear. I think it’s for the best that you are leaving though. His well-being can’t all fall on your shoulders — he has to want to do better, and it doesn’t sound like he does.

Please take care of yourself, and if you need someone, I’m only a chat or e-mail away.

Oh my God! Pole really. It’s not good to be with somebody like that, walking out was indeed the best thing you could do. Was there anything that triggered this or did it come all of a sudden and unexpected?

  13. blaez says:
