And suddenly I’m 8 again

This song just came on the radio.

Suddenly I’m no longer at work.

I’m 8. Christmas is snowy. Presents are bountiful.  Nothing is bad or scary. I’m not worried about anything. The holidays last forever. School isn’t until next year.

A wry smile plays on my lips. It can’t have been that good. We used to wear DMs, listen to Bros and it was still about 5 years before I got a gameboy.

Are there any Christmas songs which take you back to childhood?

  1. Mud says:

Band Aid “Do they know its Christmas?” every time…. always feels like end of term when I hear that!

  2. Are you kidding me? They ALL do! I am such a sucker for Christmas. Love it. My fantasy is to walk through London during Christmas time.

I’m with Mud – it’s gotta be Band Aid. In fact you’ve inspired me and am going to link it onto my blog.

Mud – I presume you mean the original?

UB – it’s cold, wet and full of miserable shoppers. Sadly, the Christmas Carol Victorian Christmas London is a myth.

Bush Mummy – glad to be of some help!

Phew, that was a nasty moment. I clicked on the link not knowing where it was going. Thankfully managed to get to the back button before anything terrible (like the beginning of the ‘song’) happened!
