Well hoorah – I was just sitting here, freezing by behind off, thinking about what to write (it was something along the lines of “bloody hell work is busy and I haven’t had time to think, let alone think of a blog post) when LCT tags me. Awesome. So here we go:
A. Attached or Single? Attached. Old married woman (without the married part – yet). 4 years of it. Phew
B. Best Friend? I have a couple of people I would count as *best* friends. Strangely thinking about it, most of them are male. Is that me reverting back to my tom-boy roots or does it just mean that women don’t like me. Who knows.
C. Cake or pie? I ate all the pies. All of them. And if you want specifics, steak and kidney pies. Like the lovely home made one, sitting in my fridge.
D. Day of choice? Depends how I’m feeling. Sometimes I love Wednesdays – the hump – because it’s on the way to being the weekend. Sometimes I love Saturdays because I get to spend time cleaning with the man
E. Essential item? I don’t think there’s just one thing I couldn’t live without. My friends, the man, my mobile, a cup of tea, chocolate hobnobs. Damn, there’s just too much.
F. Favorite color? Blue. Any form of said colour. Just make it blue.
G. Gummy bears or worms? Erm. Neither. I do like fizzy cola bottles though. Notice how they don’t actually taste of cola… they just taste of incredibly sweet/sour sugar.
H. Hometown? It’s not a town, it’s a village. And it’s a toss up whether there or Kenya is my “home”
I. Favorite indulgence? A night in on the sofa, glass bottle of wine, bits and bobs from the deli counter, cheese, pizza and my man. Oh, and a really crap film.
J. January or July? January. But only if I’m inside, fire going, nice and cosy.
K. Kids? Not yet. Maybe not ever. But that’s another story.
L. Life isn’t complete without? Laughter
M. Marriage date? Sometime in the future.
N. Number of brothers and sisters? I was enough.
O. Oranges or Apples? Apples – granny smith and bovril. Mmmm
P. Phobias?Spiders. It’s the legs. And that light tickly feeling when they scuttle over you. That’s it, it’s the scuttling.
Q. Quotes? A quote, and then some poems which I just love:
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. – Oscar Wilde
To an athlete dying young - A. E. Housman
Dulce et Decorum est – Wilfred Owen
R. Reasons to smile? Do I need a reason?
S. Season of choice? Autumn. Not too hot, not too cold. Frost in the morning. Sunshine in the day. Walking in the countryside with the dogs. Hot lunch with plenty of wine. Afternoon inside with a good book.
T. Tag 5 people:Arg, too much effort for a Sunday. Tell you what, you want to do it, go for your life.
U. Unknown fact about me? Er. I have a fancy dress box in my sitting room.
V. Vegetable? Love parsnips and courgettes.
W. Worst habit? I play with my hair and bite my nails.
X. X-ray or Ultrasound? I’ve had both. Aren’t I a lucky lady.
Y. Your favorite food?Anything. Honestly. I eat anything. Except for chilli con carne.
Z. Zodiac sign?Aries. Oh c’mon, you can’t be that surprised!
Hehe I studied Dulce et Decorum est at secondary school! Great reasons for loving Autumn
I loved the “i was enough” line. Short but effective.
I also hate spiders! They freak me right out… *shudders*

Im stealling this. Youve saved me from blankness too. ta
Ooh, my fave quote too. But apples and Marmite??
Hi. I’m new and I like what I see so far, especially the bit about those cola bottles sweets. Yum!
LCT – I love Wilfred Owen and all of his ilk. Depressing on first read but sometimes there’s a glimmer of hope there too.
Paiula – short, effective and you’re not quite sure whether I was so good that they didn’t want anymore or I was so bad that they couldn’t bear the thought of it!
BRR – I don’t know what it is about them. I think it’s their lightness. And their legs.
Wee-H – you’re welcome to steal away.
Expat Mum – apples and Bovril. A subtle but important difference!
Tamara – Hello. Good to meet you. As everyone else will testify, I’ve been particularly crap at blogging recently. It will get better, I promise!
